FOX NEWS

In my last blog I discussed the piece that Bill O’Reilly did about Elizabeth Warren on Fox News’, Talking Points. Fox News is known to be a very conservative outlet. This talking points section was called, “’President’ Elizabeth Warren Would Make Obama Look Like Reagan. ” He starts off discussing ‘how liberalism is affecting you,’ and then adds that Warren is the emerging face for liberalism in America. He continues to tell us a little bit about Warren’s ‘preferences’ and then states many things that Warren is supposedly for. However he frames them in such a manner that makes it sounds appalling, for example:

Warren thinks that all Americans should pay to abort fetuses, no matter what you think about the destruction of potential human beings.” – Bill O’Reilly

He continues on to bash the liberal policies and state that they have weakened the entire nation:

The liberal policies of President Obama have weakened this nation abroad, created a stagnant economy and staggering national debt” – Bill O’Reilly

This piece was not only done to criticize Warren but also liberalism and the democrats. Throughout this entire video, it’s not hard to tell what democratic party O’Reilly supports. He calls Warren a “classic liberal thinker, who believes Washington should control the lives of individuals, for the collective good.”

MSNBC

On the other hand, MSNBC is known to be a very liberal outlet for news and they did a piece on April 14, 2015 titled ‘Ready For Warren’ Group Is Not Giving Up. In this piece they discuss a little bit about how Warren has already stated bluntly that she will not be running. However, they base most of this piece to talk about how Warren’s ideas are rubbing off on Clinton’s political race. Followed at the end they say that, “This is really Warren’s moment and we would really like to see her get in the race.” They continue on to basically discuss how amazing it would be to see Warren in the race and how much of an impact she would be if she was to enter the race with some more push from her supporters.

I thought this was funny because it seems as though they will be talking about how people just cant grasp that Warren will not run for this years elections yet the majority of the video focuses on how much of a large influence Warren could be in the election. This was clearly a push for the Democratic Party and for Warren to join the race.

SILVER LINING OR ‘NAH’?

The two sources portray Warren on complete opposite ends of the spectrum! Fox news (conservative) thinks that Warren, Liberals and the Democratic Party are destroying this nation while MSNBC (liberal) continues to drag on the constant argument of whether or not Warren will join the other candidates in the 2016 Presidential Elections.

I think that Fox News is being completely unfair in their choice of words throughout the entire video. They use really harsh language and used Warren to bash on the liberal democrat party. If someone were to see this first before learning anything else about Warren they would think that she is a offensive, hated and horrendous person, which is completely unfair.

On the other hand, in MSNBC’s video, we see that Warren is not running but there is a huge push to convince her to run for the democratic ticket in the elections. I do however think that they are pushing Warren do to something that, point blank, isn’t going to happen. If someone were to watch this video they would see a women working for the middle class to help stop big businesses and Wall Street from taking over.

  1. I definitely agree that Fox is being unfair with their wording in the video. I think that the language in the MSNBC video could be perceived by some as favoring Warren and it being unfair in that light. If Warren were to produce a video similar to this, do you think it would be neutral or hold a large bias such as these sources?

  2. I do agree that FOX News was unfair to Warren and democrats in general. In your opinion though, do you think there are any specific ideas in the FOX video about Warren that could be true to an extent?

  3. Fox has always been a controversial news source since they always appear to be extremely biased. Do you think everything is overexaggerated or is there some truth to what they say about Warren?

  4. Because Warren has already said that she's not going to run, Fox has been spending a lot of time bashing Hillary. If Warren were running, do you think they would spend more time on her rather than Hillary?

  5. I think that Warren was defiantly over exaggerated by Fox news but not everyone can agree all the time. However, I do believe that Fox was unfair. I think that even if Warren were to run, they may still focus more negativity on Hillary. I also do think that MSNBC was showing some favor to Warren which can also be somewhat unfair.
